The Bayelsa state police command has dismissed claims of alleged assassination attempt on former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The command spokesman Asinim Botwat however confirmed that five me were intercepted for breaching the former president’s convoy around yenagoa.
The police public relation officer explains that the men were discovered to have joined the convoy unknowingly having mistaken it for campaign train, Asinim botwat said the report sent to the former president that a search on the SUV the men were driving shows that they were not armed.
He said after interrogations the men showed remorse and were allowed to go.
