SENATOR UCHENDU MOURNS DEMISE OF CHIEF NNAMDI WOKEKORO
Senator Andrew Uchendu representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has described as a “rude shock”, the demise of a former Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Chief Hon. Nnamdi Wokekoro, also known as “Ikwerre One”.
In a statement released to the press in Port Harcourt, Senator Uchendu stated that the passing away of Chief Wokekoro was a painful surprise, noting that Rivers State has lost an exceptional leader whose input into the political and non-political landscape of the State, is worthy of commendation.
“It came to me as a rude shock, the news of the death of my leader and great compatriot, Chief Nnamdi Wokekoro, the Leader of APC, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area. We have indeed lost a rare leader who made outstanding contributions both in and outside of politics.
“On behalf of the good people of Rivers East Senatorial District, I very sincerely convey my condolences to the bereaved family, PHALGA and the entire people of Rivers State,” he said.
Senator Uchendu prayed that God will grant the soul of the departed rest, and comfort the family he left behind.
